Are there any women who have really inspired you along the way? How have they helped shape your view of success and resilience in both your passions and career?
It’s hard to name just one woman as a single source of inspiration because I find motivation in so many incredible women around me - especially my friends. Some inspire me with their approach to life, others with their ambition and determination. I admire some for their strength and resilience, while others inspire me with their kindness and passion. I would say that each of them, in different ways, has shaped my perspective on success and perseverance, helping me create my path.
Living in Byron Bay must have a big influence on your lifestyle. How has living there influenced how you approach sustainability, both in your work and in your everyday life?
Living in Byron Bay for the last 13 years has definitely influenced my lifestyle and shaped my approach to sustainability. The community here is strong, and everyone’s vision is really aligned, which is amazing. We care deeply about the environment, understand the impact of climate change, prioritize local consumption, support small businesses, and avoid single-use plastics in our daily lives. Making sustainable choices feels natural - both through my business and in my everyday habits.
Looking back on your journey, is there a moment where you’ve felt especially empowered as a woman in both surfing and design?
In surfing, two moments really stand out for me. First, landing my first sponsorship was a milestone - I feel like it validated my passion and opened up new opportunities in the surfing world. Then, working on my first film, 'Obsession', a 30-minute documentary that captures the journeys of women surfers across Europe, confirmed my place in our community by giving a platform to unique stories.
In design, the most rewarding moments come from turning an idea into reality. I LOVE envisioning a surf piece that's as functional as it is flattering, then watching it come to life and seeing other women embrace it. Every step reinforces my belief in blending style with performance and comfort.
We know staying hydrated is important for an active lifestyle. How does Hydro Flask fit into your routine, and do you have a favorite bottle you use day-to-day?
I use my Hydro Flask bottle every single day. With my lifestyle, especially under the Byron Bay sun, staying hydrated is essential. I don’t drink juices or sodas, just water and coffee really, so having my water bottle with me at all times is a no-brainer. I also try to avoid single-use plastic, especially when traveling to countries where it's widely used, so I take it everywhere I go. My favourite bottle has to be the 32oz (946mL) Wide Mouth with Flex Straw Cap!
